No. 8 Texas Tech used a second-half rally to upset No. 2 West Virginia on Saturday, 72-71, ending the Mountaineers' 15-game winning streak and leaving no team unbeaten in a tight Big 12 Conference race that now features the four top teams all tied with one loss.

Keenan Evans led the Red Raiders' offensive charge with 20 points, while Brandone Francis chipped in 17 points off the bench. Jevon Carter paced WVU with 28 points in the loss, including a late three-pointer that made the score look closer than it was.

Evans hit a lean-in jumper to give Texas Tech a four-point lead in the final minute and send the first sellout crowd of the season into a frenzy.

Freshman Zhaire Smith's alley-oop dunk sparked a 12-2 run to help the Red Raiders wipe out an 11-point deficit in the second half. There were three lead changes and three ties late in the second half before Niem Stevenson hit two free throws to put the Red Raiders in front for good with 2:07 remaining.

Texas Tech (15-2, 4-1) now sits atop the Big 12 standings in a four-way tie alongside WVU (15-2, 4-1), Oklahoma (which narrowly upended TCU on Saturday thanks to 43 points from Trae Young) and 13-time defending champion Kansas (which barely avoided an upset loss to Kansas State on Saturday).
